The definition of elastic modulus of nanofiller in a matrix of polymer nanocomposites
The stiffness degree of nanofiller aggregates in polymer matrix was studied for three main classes of nanocomposites: particulate-filled ones, polymer/carbon nanotube and polymer/grapheme, i.e. filled with 0D-, 1D- and 2D-nanofiller. It has been shown that regardless of nanofiller type the structure of its aggregates is characterized physically strictly by its fractal dimension. In its turn, real (actual) modulus of elasticity of nanofiller aggregates is defined by two basic factors: their structure and stiffness of environment (polymer matrix). The conception assuming that reinforcement degree of polymer nanocomposites is defined by nanofiller structure, was confirmed.
