Plasma dynamic synthesis of disperse iron oxides in a multipulse operation mode of coaxial magnetoplasma accelerator
This paper shows the possibility of implementing a multipulse operation mode of a plasma dynamic synthesis system based on a coaxial magnetoplasma accelerator for producing iron oxide powders with a high content of epsilon phase ε-Fe2O3. It is established that the implementation of such operation mode can significantly reduce the amplitude values of the electric-discharge current and the maximum discharge power in a single power supply pulse that positive affects the reduction of electrodynamic forces in the system. At this, the dependence of the increase in the phase yield of ε-Fe2O3 (up to ~ 70 wt.%) on the number of consecutive power supply pulses is established. The carried out optimization studies made it possible to determine the most favorable working conditions from the point of maintaining an increase in the period of effective system operation and preserving the phase composition of the synthesis product.
