The mechanism of reinforcement of true nanocomposites poly(dimethylsiloxane)/carbon nanotubes

It has been shown that modulus of elasticity of carbon nanotubes in polymer matrix of nanocomposite is smaller then its nominal value only, but then modulus of elasticity of interfacial regions. Therefore for nanocomposites poly(dimethylsiloxane)/carbon nanotubes the reinforcement degree is controlled practically completely by contents of interfacial regions and nanofiller efficiency is defined by its ability to general such regions.
