Calibration method of photoelectric pulsed radiation detectors
A method for calibrating a photodiode device for detecting high-intensity radiation pulses using continuous lighting lamps is described. The principle of the technique is to use an attachable integrated circuit with a known time constant. Based on the values of the volt sensitivity and the time constant obtained during calibration using a continuous lighting lamp, the relations between the power, radiation energy, and the photodetector reaction are mathematically derived. The method was tested on a xenon flash lamp with a pulse duration at a half-height ≈ 60 μs.
