On the possible role of nonlinear inflaton scalar field in the formation of astrophysical objects
In the framework of GR, we consider the equilibrium configurations of a self-gravitating nonlinear scalar field of a type that, in cosmology, is one of the models of the inflaton field. It is shown that such configurations with proper selection of the parameters of the gravitational and scalar field systems can form "wormholes" and "cosmic strings" with different values of the azimuth angle defect.
