Experimental studies of the possibility for determining the physical and electrophysical characteristics of a multilayered environment using radio wave tomography

The report highlights the possibility of using the common midpoint algorithm (hereinafter referred to as CMP) using multi-array ground radio tomography tool. The basic theoretical aspects of the CMP method are considered, an algorithm for the numerical calculation of the dielectric constant and thickness of the first is described. The report provides information on the technical implementation of the CMP method for the GRT-2X ground radio tomography equipment, describes options for possible antenna pairs switching, as well as the stages of processing radarograms with the GeoReader software package to determine layer boundaries and of signal time delays. The results of physical modeling with a change in the height of the antenna array of the equipment above the reflecting target are presented, as well as examples of algorithm using in real environments from the territory of an industrial enterprise and the GC «Avtodor» test field.
