Volume acoustic levitation of particles in the field of phased arrays of ultrasonic radiators
The possibility of maintaining stable bulk levitation of many particles in an ultrasonic field under multilateral irradiation with monochromatic ultrasonic waves in air is considered. Particle levitation is ensured when placed in a field of standing waves of a certain configuration. Particles in the horizontal plane are controlled by changing the phase relationships of the radiating gratings. The possibility of using a monochromatic field to maintain stable volume levitation of particles is shown theoretically and experimentally. A multi-channel control system for phased arrays of ultrasonic emitters based on a single-bit digital-to-analog transducer for use in an ultrasonic levitation unit in air has been developed.
