Translational X-ray tomographic approach for scanning in limited conditions
In this work, we propose the approach for tomographic measurements to fulfill reconstruction requirements in limited conditions. A simple test phantom and famous Shepp-Logan phantom were used to conduct computer simulations of presenting approach. The reconstruction procedure was applied for the standard rotational, translational and combined trajectory of tomographic scanning. The advantages of the proposed combined scanning trajectory were demonstrated in comparing with the standard tomographic measurement procedure. The reconstruction quality was described as a function of the number of angular and translational positions, which should be defined individually for each type of samples. We hope that the proposed approach can become to fundamental base for the developing new type of industrial non-destructive testing X-ray setups.
