Kinetics of localized plastic flow fronts on the interface of metals
The regularities of the inhomogeneous development of plastic deformation at the front of the Lüders band in the bimetal “carbon steel - stainless steel” are considered. In in the main layer of low-carbon steel at the yield point were observed two zones of localized deformation, similar to the Chernov - Lüders bands. In the cladding stainless steel layer in the bimetal at the yield point were observed two localized strain fronts similar to the Porteven - Le Chatelier bands. A mechanism of the nucleation of localized deformation bands is proposed in the framework of the solid-state wedging model.
