Achievements in research of functioning processes discharge systems and emissions of electrons from plasma in forevacuum pressure range

A review of the current state of studies of processes in the functioning of a glow discharge system with a hollow cathode and a cathode arc, which provides generation of emission plasma in forevacuum plasma electron sources, is carried out. The general features of the functioning of electronic sources of this type, the processes of initiation of discharges, the achievement of the necessary parameters of the discharge and emission plasma, and also increase the efficiency of electron extraction are considered. The objectives of further research are formulated.
