Modulated Pseudo-hermitian dimer

We investigate a modulated pseudo-Hermitian optical dimer. The parameter regions where the eigenmodes of the dimer retain their power are determined. It was shown that such a dimer has several exceptional points and it was found that the dimer modes can maintain their average power over the period, even if each of the segments is in the PT-broken phase. On the other hand, even if each segment is in the PT-symmetric phase, the average power of the dimer may not preserve. This feature is determined by the ratio between the length of the dimer and the beat period of the signal that occurs in individual segments of the dimer.
