Study of the structure and mechanical properties of the copper alloy of the Cu-Al-Si-Mn system obtained by electron beam additive manufacturing
To obtain a copper alloy of the Cu-Al-Si-Mn system, electron-beam additive manufacturing wire technology was used. The methods of optical metallography and scanning electron microscopy were used to study the structure. To determine the composition of the obtained material, the method of energy dispersive spectral analysis was used. To determine the mechanical properties of the alloy, studies were carried out of its tensile strength and microhardness. It is established that the structure of the printed material consists of dendritic grains of the κ phase and interlayers of the γ phase. The printed material is characterized by anisotropic properties in strength, but anisotropic in ductility during static tensile tests. The hardness values also indicate the anisotropy of the mechanical properties, which is mainly due to the two-phase structure and the irregularity of their volume content in the volume of the printed copper alloy of the Cu-Al-Si-Mn system.
