Application of the technology of carbothermal synthesis in the production of mixed uranium and plutonium nitride
An overview and a brief analysis of the application of the technology of carbothermal synthesis in the production of mixed uranium and plutonium nitride is presented. Emphasizes on the application of this method in the implementation of the «Breakthrough» project. The paper presents the experience of implementing this technology at the site of the «Siberian Chemical Plant», the proposed technological scheme for producing mixed uranium and plutonium nitride at the fabrication-refabrication module of the experimental demonstration power complex.
