Structural features of the two-layer electric arc coating with additives of titanium carbonitride nanoparticles on low-carbon steel

The structure and microhardness have been investigated for the heat-affected zone of low-carbon and low-alloy steel, the fusion zone and the coating obtained by two passes of manual electric arc surfacing using electrodes modified with nanoparticles of titanium carbonitrides. It is shown that the dependence of the microhardness on the distance from the coating surface has four stages. The microstructure corresponding to each stage is investigated using optical and scanning tunneling microscopes. It is the surfacing overheating zone overheating zone of the surfacing, which are favorable for increasing the composition impact toughness.
