Fragmentation of grains in polycrystals. Mesoscopic description
The model of grain fragmentation in deforming polycrystals is proposed, in which a solid is considered as an open non-equilibrium system, the structural relaxation of which is determined by processes on a mesoscopic scale level. A system of two nonlinear equations describing the structural relaxation of the medium is obtained within the framework of the phase field method. The dynamics of the nucleation of the grain boundary is considered.
