Propagation of electromagnetic waves in a cholesteric liquid crystals

We study the fundamental properties of solutions of Maxwell's equations describing the propagation of electromagnetic waves in a cholesterol liquid crystal with tensor characteristics depending on one of the spatial coordinates (the Z-axis is chosen). The matrix of coefficients, the structure of the matrix of Maxwell's equations, and the dispersion equations of an anisotropic liquid cholesterol medium are obtained.
