Regularities of structure formation in AA2024 alloy during high-intensity plastic deformation under conditions of adhesion-diffusion friction interaction
The paper presents the results of model experimental studies of structural-phase changes in aluminum alloy AA2024 after friction with a complex configuration of a counterbody. Peculiarities of transfer layer structure formation in material after friction stir processing and after frictional interaction with material extrusion from friction zone are revealed. The conducted research shows that the formed structure in the process of frictional interaction differs significantly in different areas in terms of removal relative to the counterbody. In comparison with the structure formed during friction stir processing, after the frictional contact accompanied by extrusion from the friction zone, a structure with close in value grain size of a solid solution on the basis of aluminum and particles of secondary phases is formed. The main differences of the formed structures at friction stir processing and intensive frictional interaction consist in morphology and distribution of particles of secondary phases.
