Macroscopic localization of plastic deformation under loading of Cu-Ni alloys
The effect of the nickel content in commercial copper-nickel alloys (manganine, cupronickel, constantan, monel) on the mechanical properties and parameters of macroscopic localization of plastic deformation under uniaxial tension has been studied. The evolution of plastic strain localization at the stages of yield plateau and parabolic work hardening was studied by digital speckle photography. The effect of the Ni content on the onset and duration of the stages of parabolic strain hardening is shown. The dependence of the spatial period of localization of plastic deformation of alloys on the content of Ni in the studied alloys has been established.
