About the relative otherbonding properties of f-, s- and d-electrons of rare earth elements
The relative bond strengths of various electronic configurations of rare earth elements are investigated. By registering the intensity of the optical spectra of lanthanides, the implementation of the Pauli principle and the principle of energy efficiency of filling electronic shells is explained. A general tendency of strengthening of the 4 f electron bond in comparison with the 5 d electron bond has been found. It is shown that the larger the charge of the nucleus, the stronger the bond of the 4 f electrons compared to the 5 d valence electrons, which have a large principal quantum number.
