Simulation of polarized solar radiation trasnsfer over ocean with accounting for primary production indicators of its surface layer
An approach is proposed that makes it possible to simulate the transfer of polarized solar radiation over the ocean taking into account the primary production indicators of its surface layer and wind waves using the Monte Carlo method The dependence of the ocean albedo values calculated in accordance with this approach on illumination conditions, surface wind speed, and primary production characteristics is studied. The features of the angular distribution of the radiance at the level of the upper boundary of the atmosphere, revealed under different conditions of a numerical experiment, are discussed. Estimates are obtained for the errors of calculating the Stokes vector and the degree of polarization, which are due to the neglect of light interaction with the near-surface layer of the water medium when solving the vector radiative transfer equation.
