Effect of pixel geometric factor on the spatial resolution of linear MWIR mercury-cadmium-tellurium-based photodetectors
The effect of the diode-to-pixel size ratio on the spatial resolution of the linear photovoltaic mid-wave infrared (MWIR) mercury-cadmium-tellurium (MCT) based photodetectors was experimentally studied. Measurements performed on the linear 288×4 photodetectors fabricated using molecular beam epitaxy showed that the resolution of photodetectors based on the MCT material with a photocarrier diffusion length of ~ 40 μm increases with increasing diode size at fixed pixel pitch.
