Calculation of charge of bulk nanobubbles in water under the balance of Coulomb and Laplace pressures
The possibility of stabilizing bulk nanobubbles in water due to the balance at their boundary of the surface tension (Laplace pressure P L( r 0)) and electrostatic pressure P ( r 0) due to the charge of the bubble has been shown. The stability of the nanobubble is increased by the surrounding hydration Δ-layer (Δ ≈ 1 nm). The low dielectric constant (ε1 ≈ 3) of this layer increases the pressure P ( r 0) at the nanobubble boundary, contributing to its stability. The dimensions and charge of the nanobubble are determined at P L( r 0) = P ( r 0). The concentration of the solution has little effect on this equality.
