Classification of subsonic flow regimes of viscous gas in a constant cross-section channel
A one-dimensional flow of viscous gas in a channel of constant cross-section with a subsonic velocity at the inlet is considered. It is proposed to use a comprehensive approach to estimating friction losses for subsonic flow sections - in the form of total pressure losses along the length of these sections and their dependence on various parameters. Based on the proposed approach to estimating total pressure losses, a classification of possible flow regimes is performed and the boundaries of the existence of these regimes are determined depending on the inlet velocity, the channel length, and the pressure ratio at the inlet and outlet of the channel under consideration.
