Features of the mechanism of high-speed penetration of cylindrical strikers made of tungsten-based heavy alloy into a metal obstacle
The high-speed interaction of cylindrical strikers made of a heavy tungsten-based alloy with different cone angles of the head part with a semi-infinite metal barrier was studied experimentally in the speed range from 700 to 790 m/s. It was found that high-speed interaction of strikers with barriers occurs with the formation of a crater for all types of striker heads, and the mechanism of penetration of this type of strikers into the barrier has a clearly expressed staged nature.
