Comparative study of laser generation on a composite Nd3+:YAG / Cr4+:YAG ceramic element and a laser on a single-crystal Nd3+:YAG element with a passive modulator on a LiF:F2– crystal
The results of a study of the radiation parameters of a laser based on a composite element made of domestic Nd3+:YAG / Cr4+:YAG ceramics are presented in comparison with a laser based on a single-crystal Nd3+:YAG element with a passive modulator on a LiF:F2- crystal. It was found that in the laser based on a composite element, the average generation power was 4.2 W at a differential efficiency of 28.6% and an overall efficiency of 24%. In the laser based on a single-crystal active element, the average generation power was 5.0 W at a differential efficiency of 34.9% and an overall efficiency of 27.8%.
