Identification of size and concentration of submicron particles on the basis of Rayleigh scattering model
This paper presents a method for determining both the maximum size and concentration of submicron aerosol particles by measuring the attenuation of parallel beam of probing optical radiation. The proposed technique enables accurate determination of particle concentration and their maximum size without requiring any prior information about the dispersed composition of the aerosol medium. The method can be applied to solve a wide range of practical problems, such as environmental monitoring, diagnostics of material combustion processes, and air pollution control.
