The features of deagglomeration of electroexplosive Janus-like Cu–Fe bicomponent nanoparticles
In present study, we investigated for the first time the properties of ultrasonic deagglomeration of Cu-Fe Janus nanoparticles (NPs). The nanoparticles were obtained by simultaneous electrical explosion of copper and iron wires in an argon atmosphere. The average particle size was 63 nm, the phase composition was represented only by the α-Fe and Cu phases, and the particle surface was enriched with Cu2+ and Fe3+ ions. The zeta potential of the Cu-Fe NPs was the arithmetic mean of the zeta potentials of individual Cu NPs and Fe NPs taken in equimolar quantities. It was found that ultrasonic deagglomeration of Cu-Fe particles was accompanied by coagulation after 20 s of exposure, and the dispersion time providing the smallest average agglomerate size, was average between the dispersion times of metallic copper and iron NPs.
