Specifics of composition changes of a scientific-technical text

Editing of the text body has its features depending on many factors. It is essential, in particular, to take into account the type of the text, its functions, pragmatic goals, readers. The paper discusses specific alterations of the body of a scientific-technical text -a fragment of instruction to enter numeric values using the on-screen keyboard. The step-by-step methods and techniques of composition modification of the fragment are described: editorial analysis of the body of the text, making its plan and determining weaknesses (lack of logic of presentation, extra information and lack of the essential one); making a new plan of the text to eliminate the revealed discrepancies; editing the text according to its redesigned plan; analysis of the corrections made. The edited text is given. Its composition adequately reflects the content and makes the material coherent, holistic and more informative. It is concluded that the editorial analysis and making the plan of the author's original are the basis of compositional alterations of the scientific-technical text.
