Vladimir Vysotsky's poetry in the imagological context: the tendencies of the translation perception

It will not be an exaggeration to say that the work of Vladimir Vysotsky is one of the most popular and widely represented in translations. Regarding his work one can fully include the statement of V. Hugo: "Great poets are like high mountains: they have a lot of echoes. Their songs are repeated in all languages". Indeed, the "echo" of Vysot-sky's works covers more and more countries and languages, and in 2017 it will be 40 years since the first translations appeared. The body of all translations of Vysotsky's poetry known by now is that of 8 131 text (8 105 of them are in open access) in 237 languages, created by more than 970 translators. More than half of all works of the poet have their foreign language version (at least 440). In the years 1967-2017 the average number of translations from Vysotsky, carried out and published within one year, increased 75 times (from 5 to 375). Each of the ten most popular poet's texts in the foreign translation reception got its embodiment in a foreign language at least 100 times. The formulation of the question regarding the composition of translators of Vysotsky's poetry is relevant in this context. Based on the results of the author's investigation in this area, the criterion of the degree of proximity of the authors to Russian verbal culture and their belonging to one or another national tradition serves as an adequate material. Considering these criteria, the following groups of translators are distinguished: 1) bilingual authors born and residing in Russia, who translated the texts into the languages of small non-Russian-speaking peoples; 2) residents of Russia born and permanently residing there, who carried out translations into the languages of other countries; 3) natives from Russia and other former Soviet republics living abroad; 4) foreigners who know the Russian language and have experience of a fairly long residence in Russia; 5) foreigners who know the Russian language but do not have the experience of living in Russia; 6) foreigners who do not speak Russian (in this case it is a question of translating through the text in an intermediary language). Reflecting on the aspect of the translations equivalence of each group representatives, an example of an analysis of the translated text adequacy against the original of one of the most popular texts "Ships" in the Maltese reception using back translation is given.
