Works of brothers Musset in the book collection of the Stroganovs at Research Library of Tomsk State University
In the paper the phenomenon of the library is seen as a metacommunicative model of culture, where the specific subjects of communication are the collective (multiple) author and the collective (multiple) reader, and the topic of communication is the world culture. In the book collection of the Stroganovs this metacommunicative aspect is represented in the systematization and description of the books by French Romantic writers of the first half of the 19th century. The purpose of the description is recreation of socio-communicative space of the personality of the principal owner of the book collection, Count A.S. Stroganov (1770-1857), his "live" presence in the history of his family and in the nation's history, the disclosure of the role of his collection in the development of the humanistic traditions of Russian and world culture. Paul Edme de Musset (1804-1880), writer, playwright, author of historical works, elder brother of Alfred de Musset, is represented in the Stroganovs' book collection by his 17 works in 23 volumes. Among the works are his novels "Lauzon" (1835), "Anne Boleyn'' (1837), ''Jean le Trouveur" (1851), "Livia" (1852), ''Le Nouvel Aladin" (1853), and "Souvenirs de Sicile: La chevre jaune'' (1848), stories ''Femmes de la Regence'' (1841), etc. The paper concentrates on "Sicilian Memories. Mezzo-matto'' and ''The Scenic Journey through Southern Italy and Sicily" by P.E. de Musset. There are only three works by A.L.C. de Musset in the Stroganovs' collection, among them is a collection ''Un Spectacle dans un fauteuil'', published in Paris in 1833, and the first edition of the novel ''La Confession d'un enfant du siecle'', published in Paris in 1836. Both these books are of undoubted artistic value, so they were taken out from the library of Tomsk State University. Currently, the youngest of brothers Musset is the author of only one book in the Stroganovs' collection - ''Comedies et proverbs'' in two volumes, published in Paris in 1853. The most interesting of them is the historical drama "Lorenzaccio" (1834), in which the image of the main character is perceived as the fate of the "French Hamlet" of the late Italian Renaissance.
