Methodological aspects of diagnosing and managing the level of development of enterprises' innovation potential

The article explores the innovative potential of enterprises and focuses on factors that determine its value and state. The appeal to this issue is due to a number of interrelated circumstances, including the ever-increasing role of innovative potential in ensuring the proper level of competitiveness of enterprises, as well as the urgent need to adjust the conceptual framework for diagnosing and managing the innovative potential of an enterprise, and, accordingly, to develop an adequate specialized methodological toolkit. The methodological basis of the study is the idea that the main assessment indicator of the innovative potential of an enterprise is the level of its development, determined by the quality of resource components (that is, the level of innovative potential) and the degree of realization of resource opportunities, depending on the type of the enterprise's innovation policy. The key place in the article is given to the presentation and illustration on conditional examples of original methodological tools that accumulate a number of specialized methods positioned as elements of scientific novelty. In particular, these tools include a methodology for diagnosing the level of development of the innovative potential of an enterprise based on a transformational analysis of specialized resource indicators; a methodology of a comprehensive analysis of innovation potential profile; a methodology for assessing the coefficient of realization of resource opportunities, associated with identifying the type of innovation policy. An important element of scientific novelty of a theoretical nature is the justification of two types of innovation policy in the context of promoting the development of innovation potential and the justification of their parametric (attribute) characteristics. At the end of the article, the scientific and applied significance of the presented material is emphasized, its wide demand is predicted. The author declares no conflicts of interests.
