Ranking of the US geographical areas and states by the population's living standard indicators
The political processes currently taking place in the world have a significant impact not only on the state of the national economy of countries, but also on the standard of living of their population. The United States of America, being the largest economy, is also the main driver of the changes taking place in the world, provoking turbulence in the global economy. Therefore, the internal socio-economic processes in the United States, which become a consequence of the foreign policy of this country, are of interest. The aim of this article is to analyze the differentiation of indicators of the standard of living of the US population by geographic location. In this regard, a ranking of individual indicators determining the standard of living of citizens and the degree of development of human potential was carried out by historical regions and states in 2022-2023. Based on the analysis, it was revealed that the highest indicators of the standard of living of the population are determined in the regions where administrative public power, financial resources of large transnational corporations, high-tech production centers and educational centers are concentrated. In addition, a noticeable degree of influence of urbanization on the standards of living of the population was determined. It was also established that the states of the Southeast, where the main activity is traditionally agriculture and where the majority of the African-American population is concentrated, are the poorest in the United States.
