Dynamic strength of austenitic steel 08KH16N20M2T in the submicrosecond range of durations shock wave load
The results of measurements of the free surface velocity profiles of samples of 08X16N20M2T reactor steel at room and elevated temperatures are presented. It was found that the mechanical inhomogeneities in the structure of the steel leads to a spread of the measured parameters of the Hugoniot elastic limit and the spall strength. It was determined that the high-pressure HCP phase is not formed under shock compression in the austenitic steel tested.
