А highly selective bandpass filter for C-band channel satellite’s input multiplexer

The channel bandpass filter of a satellite is developed based on twelve coaxial resonators. Two additional inductive and two additional capacitive couplings between non-adjacent resonators are used to decrease the group delay time and to significantly increase the selectivity of the device. This allows to arrange two zero poles at the right and the left slopes of the passband. To decrease the unevenness of the passband frequency response, a special method was used, consisting in some decrease of the reflection losses near the edges of the filter passband. This made it possible to synthesize a miniature filter with the central frequency of the passband f 0 = 4 GHz and its width of 45 MHz, measured at a level of 0.8 dB from the level of the minimum losses, using the electromagnetic simulation. The measured characteristics of the fabricated filter showed good agreement with the simulated ones.
